Faisal bin Sultan Al Saud… a pen pulsating with poetry, a heart that sees humanity as its primary focus, and his art as a mirror of the conscience. A visual prince who paints not only with colors, but with a flowing feeling, his painting speaks of a spiritual state brimming with love, life, and contemplation.
From paintings he created between 1999 and 2006, to an exhibition that toured between Saudi Arabia and Beirut, followed by a long hiatus due to his busy schedule, he returns today to give painting the attention it deserves. These are new, vibrant paintings that have never been exhibited before because they were created to be seen independently and to take their place in the eye’s memory.
Art, for Prince Faisal, is not a moment… but a permanent state. Inspiration does not come suddenly, but lurks within the artist’s soul, storing images and situations, releasing them when they mature within memory and emotion. He sees himself as a human being before being an artist, and artistic documentation of the lives of the people around him is an act of responsibility, not a luxury.
From the brush to cinema, a true passion for the lens, the camera, and the magic of the moving image. His entry into Hollywood was not for fame, but rather out of a love of art, vision, and high-quality production. He produced two independent films, which he sees as a beginning that doesn’t represent the height of his ambition, but rather his first step toward a bigger dream: to be present in every detail of the work, from script to editing, and to create a work that carries his identity, worthy of his name and principles.
He never forgets his name or hides behind it; he considers it a responsibility. It’s a title he was born with, but he sees it as a duty before it is an honor. He chooses his works carefully, ensuring they reflect refined taste and convey a message that respects religion, values, and people.
Prince Faisal believes that art is a bridge of communication and a message that can repair what politics has damaged. Therefore, he dreams of producing Arab films with a global spirit, with American productions that cross borders but carry within their screens the heritage of the island and the talents of its youth. He doesn’t seek applause, but rather influence; Not to heroism, but to building a bridge between East and West.
He is a painter who writes poetry… not a poet who paints. His talent doesn’t stop at the frame of a painting or the rhyme of a verse, but rather moves between words, color, sound, and the camera.
Ultimately, he doesn’t seek much to be written about him, but rather for his works to speak for him. For his name to be mentioned in association with beauty, message, and art worthy of humanity.
